Hi there!

I’m Dr. Erin Issac - or just Dr. Erin, for short.

I’m a Pittsburgh girl born and raised, with pit stops in Maryland and Philadelphia for undergrad and dental school, respectively. A board-certified pediatric dentist, I’m the proud owner of the cutest little boutique dental office for kiddos, Winning Smiles Pediatric Dental Care. Nothing makes me happier than practicing in my hometown.

Since 2015, I’ve built my practice from (literally) the ground up and have been building a life centered on spreading happiness, mindfulness and wellness everywhere I go. Let’s just call it the Erin Effect.

But things haven’t always been (or seem) this easy: I failed my first exam in dental school. I almost lost my practice soon after opening because I didn’t know how to run a business. And then we closed for 2.5 months due to the pandemic.

From not knowing how many teeth are in a human mouth on the first day of dental school (32 if you have your wisdom teeth!) to earning a national Top 40 Dentists Under 40 award, it's safe to say I picked up some knowledge here and there. I talk about ALL of this here. So while you’ll learn about dental and overall health, you’ll see a lot of info about business ownership, women empowerment and life. Because, let’s face it - healthcare providers are humans, too.

My main goals in this corner of the interwebs are simple: to educate, to empower and to elevate. My platform is a mix of education, coaching, inspiration and a bunch more. If you’re ready to join me on this mission, then let’s connect!

I truly believe every single one of us has at least one thing we're really good at it. Whatever that is...run with it. You'll be surprised where it will take you.

Fun Facts

I’m a former D1 college athlete. I was a diver at the University of Maryland.

My mother and two sisters are also all doctors! Mom is a retired radiologist/chief medical officer from a state psychiatric hospital. The oldest is an adolescent medicine doc, and the middle sister is a sports medicine doc. (I’m the baby!) And my grandpap was one of the FIRST African Americans in the country to earn a PhD. (He earned two of them.)

I absolutely love to travel. Some of my favorite spots include London, Iceland and Germany.

My family and I OBSESSED with Disney. We go to Disney World every year!

Of the nation's ~200,500 dentists, a little over 33% (about 60,000) are female. Of that, about 6% are African American (fewer than 4,000) and, from there, somewhere between 4-6% (about 240, if we’re being generous) are African American female dentists. That’s in the ENTIRE United States. So you’re looking at a TRUE unicorn.

I am a proud #dogmom to a mini Goldendoodle named Devereaux (Reaux for short). She’s named after the one-and-only Blanche Devereaux from The Golden Girls (my favorite TV show).

A few of my favorite things: fashion/modeling, sports, the Pittsburgh Steelers, nice people, puppies, tater tots, wine, high heels and eyeliner.

I want to be Oprah or Simone Biles when I grow up. Or maybe a mix of both.
